Sure, we have the NBA Charlotte Bobcats,(Guess who's the new owner? - Michael Jordan) Yep, the CIAA plays their tournament here, and so so does the Southern Conference. We have even hosted the NCAA Tournament.
NBA + NCAA is a successful grouping for live sports in the Charlotte Arena. Swish for B-Ball fans.
Local NCAA Basketball includes the University of North Carolina Charlotte, Davidson College (darlings of the 2008 tournament), and Winthrop University in nearby South Carolina.
Local High School ball has plenty for the eye to behold. Championships exude from our area teams.
March Madness is about to become a national obsession.
It's the most fair way to crown a national champion.
Take 64 teams, play round robin, and let the best team win. Fun to watch.
Last year the North Carolina Tar heals won. Who knows this year's winner?
Grab some popcorn and send in the chips. March Madnesss will be Fun no matter who wins. Is this the year of North Carolina's DUKE?

Claude, NCAA football needs to determine its champion the same way...with a tournament.
Eric - Would not that take the bowlers on their ear in football?
The bowl games can be set for specific bracket matchups. For example, Rose bowl can be for the western semi-finals, etc etc I think if you have 64 teams with an equal chance to win the championship, the interest level would be at an all time high. Would be much bigger than march madness.
Claude, as an App state grad, I was disappointed last night. But your city has many things to offer. Hope that the housing turns around soon.
Claude,
Cute! We were just talking about this last night at dinner. My husband prints out a bunch of brackets and the kids all put down their entries and we see who wins. 5+ years ago, they might have been picking by color of team jerseys, now they are a bit more serious. Even our daughter said she's going to go by rankings, - which is sometimes effective.
Although, the other group thought of our conversation is we didn't think UNC was going to make it into the tournament. My husband's a big UNC and Duke fan, so he'll probably be ok to see Duke win it all this year.
All the best, Michelle
Basketball is far and away my favorite sport and I can't wait for March Madness to get started.
